The Friends of Raveh-Ravid Fund for Excellence and Social Leadership is working to foster and develop a new generation of leaders from the periphery of Israel, leaders who are highly educated and with a social vision.
The Fund sees the development of new leadership from the periphery as a challenge and a mission and sincerely hopes that the students participating in the program will realize their qualities and bring a new type of leadership to Israeli society and public life.
The students studying with the Friends of Raveh-Ravid Fund also participate in a unique, wide ranging and long term, leadership program throughout the student’s entire academic life - from BA to PhD.
The foundations leadership program is based on 5 premises:
· Knowledge - basic tenants, theories, models and definitions for various styles of leadership.
· Awareness - Self awareness and an awareness of each student’s individual leadership style. Examination of points of strength and weakness and patterns of individual influence.
· Skills and qualifications - the development of leadership capabilities and skills.
· Individual leadership capabilities - development and strengthening of each student’s belief in their ability to move and influence other people.
· What it means to be a leader - development of world-view, ethical rules, values, aims and the consolidation of a leadership role model.
During the course of the leadership program, students work on the systematic development of initiatives, creativity, internal authority, methods for dealing with obscurity, flexible thinking and more.
